"For God loves a cheerful giver"
- 2 Cor 9:7

Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 9 that God does not want us to give out of obligation, but out of a cheerful heart and a willingness to serve Him. We do not pass an offering plate at our services because we desire offerings to be an act of worship, not an act of guilt, pride or compulsion, and an act that can be done secretly and prayerfully, as taught by Jesus in Matthew 6.

We believe all we have is from the Lord and that the Bible teaches believers to participate in the worship of God and to support the local church with their finances. We have chosen to take a low-key approach to the issue of finances in order to avoid the overemphasis that has been placed upon money within the Church as a whole.

As a result we do not pass an offering plate during the church service; rather an offering box is located in the Sanctuary where people can place their offerings. We believe this act of worship should come from a joyful heart and that God is worthy of such acknowledgment (II Corinthians 9:1). We encourage everyone who attends Calvary Chapel Greer to be led of the Lord, and obedient to the scriptures, regarding their offerings. We teach on giving when it comes up in Scripture and do not seek to make this a regular matter of discussion. God has and continues to honor this approach as He is faithful from week to week to meet all our needs.

We want to provide every opportunity for believers to make offerings to the Lord biblically. If you would like to make an offering to the Lord through the work and ministries of this fellowship, you can place your offering in one of the Agape Boxes in the Sanctuary, or send a check payable to:
